Crosswater Ecolodge?

Maybe some of you have seen the blurb in this month's Travel + Leisure on the Crosswater Ecolodge, located about 2 hours outside of Hong Kong.

The article (and the one picture of the premises) really piqued my interest as a possible two day excursion from HK for our upcoming trip, but aside from the article and the one picture they feature, I cannot find ANY information on this place.

A Google search turned up the following webiste:
www.crosswaters.com.cn

...but it isn't working.

Does anyone know anything this place?

Seems like it's very very new. Might want to try the phone.

Hi FilmWill did you have any luck contacting Crosswaters? We are interested in going and wanted some feedback. Thanks.

hobbes, I never was able to track down any additional info on it so we ended up crossing it off our itinerary.

Seem to remember them having a website up and running for a very brief moment, but it wasn't in English and it was down as soon as it was up.

I did write down the number they posted on it...it was 86-752/769-3666. Don't know if that'll help or not.

Please let me know if you have any luck. The hotel seems to have popped up on the radar and suddenly disappeared, so I'd be curious to know what's going on with it.

Looking at this again, i found quite a few Chinese websites with pretty detailed descriptions and very nice photos. So, this place definitely exist! A couple of sites say there are 30 cabins total, costing either 820RMB or 1,480RMB a night.

Some tell you how to get there, with pretty decent description. But what's super frustrating is that none tell you how to book. No website, no phone number, no agent. Incredible.

rkk, mind sharing some of those links with the photos? i'm very curious to check them out!

Here's one:

Or, in English:

Okay, I also came upon an article that Land Rover China debuted its LR2 SUV in Southern China on 6/28 at the Crosswaters. Cost about US$70,000 over there.

I hope I'm wrong, but I have a feeling (I have no facts, no prove - just feeling) that this place is now more a resort for the rich and famous from Guangzhou, rather than a retreat. With just 30 cabins/rooms, it's probably booked solid through insider channels. So, they don't even need to have a website, phone or agent to attract tourists (local or foreign).

OK, luck with Crosswaters. It has been low key coz it just opened in end 07. The website is www.crosswaters.net.cn. Reviews are amazing. Around 1500RMb/night double occupancy. We may go and I will report back. The only challenge is getting there as it is about 1.5 hours outside Guangzhou.
