Hi - A friend is planning on a trip to Thailand etc. and wishes to take one credit card - which one is most widely accepted?? American Express is used in Europe - what about Asia? Thanks in advance.....

Was in Bangkok just a few weeks ago. I used AX and MC easily. No problem with either and ATM's are also available.

I would take a VISA (as I did for my trip) and not an American express. <BR> <BR>Carol

I found that Visa is the most widely accepted, followed by M/C. The major hotels will take almost anything, though the smaller cities can be a problem, at times. I recommend at least two credit cards, in case you loose one, or it is not accepted (for various reasons). Bring an ATM card! I even take travelers checks to convert to ready cash at the airports.
