Converters or plug adapters for Japan

Do we need power converters or simple plug adapters to charge electronics (ITouch, video and still cameras, blackberry, computer, etc) in Japan?
Thanks

Most of the electronic goods of the type you mention these days come with built in voltage converters. Check the manuals for yours to know for sure. Plug adapters may or may not be needed...depends what you've already got. Japan uses two equal sized flat prongs..if you have 3 prongs or two unequal sized flat prongs or any others, you'll need an adapter.

In any case should you find yourself needing a plug adaptor, many of the larger electronics and camera stores will have multi-plug adaptors that will suit you.

The best way to be prepared is to bring a single multi-country plug adaptor with you, and then a small power board to use for charging devices. Optionally, also get a power adaptor that has USB sockets- USB charge cables are easier to carry than several power bricks.

Erik, are you from North America or from another point on the globe?

All of thin things you have listed - cameras, itouch, blackberry and laptop - have built in converters in their power cords. All you need is an adaptor. In my experience, virtually all hotels will have adapters available for your use. We have a set of adaptors, but never bother to carry it any more.

all the hotels we stayed in across JP had an adapter we could borrow.
