Coffe-makers

Anybody know whether hotels in India have coffee (or tea)- makers?
Just want to know if I should pack some tea bags.
Thanks.

Some hotels have appliances that boil water (for tea and instant coffee) but no (real) coffee makers for sure - I would e-mail the hotels you are staying at to find out.

I would agree that generally you will not find hot water heaters/coffee makers in hotel rooms in India, only a limited few hotels offer them. (Oberoi Delhi is one I recall). You can always find tea and coffee in hotel restaurants and room service for hotels which offer room service.

I am not a coffee drinker so can't comment on the wisdom of bringing instant coffee, but IMO to miss the wonderful tea in India and drink tea bags from the US would be a shame! Chai tea with milk, sugar and spices is wonderful and is found everywhere. As it is thoroughly boiled, even street stall chai is fine. All sorts of other great plain teas are also available. (Darjeeling, etc)

how will you make the coffee or tea without boiled water? remember you can't drink the reg water

Gosh Cicerone, I hadn't even thought of shlepping teabags around and missing local teas. This was just for that finally-in-bed-after-a-long-day-sightseeing herbal, or quick-before-breakfast caffiene fix.
