Chinese Porcelain

We go this year to Singore, Taiwan and Thailand. My son asked us to bring him some chinese soup bowls and plates - of painted porcelan.
Where do you advise that it will be easier to find them? In all of these countries we have no many time, and I do not want to spend a lot of time for shoping.

I haven't been to Taiwan, but I know you can find this sort of thing in Singapore along Orchard Rd.

You should find all kinds of porcelain ware in any departmental store in Singapore. Also, in recent years, hand-painted rooster porcelain-ware is very common in Asia and these are sold very cheaply in Thailand (e.g. Chatuchak weekend market) and exported with inflated values to other Asian countries - you can find all sizes of bowls and even soup spoons, mini sauce plates and more in the same pattern there.

For more traditional designs, I suggest you to go to Chinatown of Singapore or Taiwan.

in taipei, you'll find a ton of these--cheap ones in the night markets and higher quality ones in any of the department stores.
