Chinese Pillows
Seems like everyone agrees that Chinese beds are hard - what about the pillows?
|
Most Chinese beds may be hard but the mattress I slept on in Shanghai last month was the best I have ever experienced! I went so far as to write to the Meridien Hotel to inquire about the manufacturer.
|
Locals prefer firm pillows at home but hotel pillows are mostly soft. Some are almost flabby so I used two.
EK: Were the Meridien mattresses made according to western standards? |
S; Yes..like a western mattress but more comfortable than I had ever slept on. I could kick myself for not looking at the label. I contacted the hotel after I returned and they sent me the following contact:
Suzhou Shuilian Mattress Shanghai Branch tel: 86-21-64873810 e-mail: [email protected] (actually there was no low dash; the entire name was underlined and for some reason the first name is not highlighted when I post on this site) It is Anna, space, then Huang with the @163.com. Assuming that this meant that the mattress was manufactured in China and not available in the US, I did not contact Ms. Huang but I am now considering an e-mail just to double check. The mattress was not hard. The pillows were excellent but not out of the ordinary. The bed linens were very high quality cotton with a lightweight down comforter. |
Thanks, EK!
