China tour companies

My husband and I are planning a trip to China next year (2008). We are looking at Pacific Delight Tours. Can anyone give me some pros or cons for this company?
Thank you

Traveled with them, 21 days, China this past April-May. They were wonderful. Everything was first class. Hope you have Dr. Herbert Fong as your guide. He is from San Francisco and was outstanding.

My wife and I took two China tours with Pacific Delight and found them to be excellent. On the first tour we were led by an American who had studied in China several years. The second tour was led by a woman born in Hong Kong but who had lived in the USA several years. Both did an excellent job, the hotels were top grade, and everything on the tour was included. We have not traveled China with Pacific Delight recently because we now travel on our own.

We traveled with Pacific Delight in March 2005 on their "Asian Escapade" tour that visited Beijing, Xian, Guilin, Hong Kong, Bangkok and Singapore. Overall, we were very pleased with them. Our group consisted of 8 people, so we did not have a tour director with us. There were individual guides in each city we visited. We did not do a "Supervalue" tour with them. The hotels in China were fine. The food on most of the China portion of the trip was pretty bad. "Tourist" food that you would find in a bad Chinese restaraunt in the U.S. The meals that we had at the hotels in China were fine.
There were a lot of shopping stops that the tour made throughout China. (pearl factory, jewelry stores, jade factory, etc.) I believe this is pretty common with most tour companies, and we were not overtly pressured to buy anything. I think it was a great deal for all that was included and would travel with them again.

We used China-connection for our trip in April and were very pleased. You can read about our trip on my web page. Here is the URL:
