This site seems to have the info. you're looking for: http://www.pacfusion.com/econcierge/adaptor/index.phtml.
When we were in China it seemed every city needed a different adaptor--hotels were always very happy to lend us what we needed.
Enjoy your trip!

SORRY--the first couple times I tried the web address I gave in the above reply it worked--now it won't. SO--try http://www.pacfusion.com/econcierge/

The information they give is exactly what you want--if it won't work play with it for awhile--maybe try a general web search for "electrical adapter".

And if it still won't work, the answer is this:

The Chinese system is 220 volts.

The most common socket is the two flat-pin type as in North America, closely followed by the two round-pin type favoured in continental Europe. The majority of power points actually have both fittings, and the third most common is the Australian type (also seen in Fiji in my experience) with three flat pins, two of them at an angle. Usually items requiring higher power are plugged into this socket, such as the fridge/minibar in your hotel room. Quite commonly, panels have all three fittings.

Lastly, if your hotel has been constructed under Hong Kong auspices, such as many of the five-stars and four-stars around the country which have familiar brand names, or are run as Sino-foreign joint-ventures, the British standard of large, chunky three-pin sockets may be the only thing available unless there are special laptop points in the desk. But hotels of this calibre always have the adaptors you need.

Peter N-H
http://members.axion.net/~pnh/China.html
