Thanks jayc for finishing this report. We will be in Arashiyama in early April hopefully witnessing the cherry blossoms so I am glad to get any info on the area.

Have a wonderful trip to Spain and Portugal. Loved Lisboa and Madrid. We spent a month wandering around those two countries a few years ago and it seems like you will be doing the same thing. I have seen your post on the Euro board and my advice would be to skip Morocco if you don't have the time to invest there and to be careful with your wallets and the pickpockets at night(or day) on Las Ramblas in Barcelona. If you do make it down south try to see if you can fit in a night Rhonda.....loved that place.

Wonderfully written report! I am constantly amazed at how great Fodorites can write and you didn't disappoint! I loved Beijing and Tokyo and this very detailed report was great for reliving everything I saw.
