China House, Bangkok closing for renovation

Just an alert to those going to Bangkok and hoping to try China House. We went last week to try the Peking Duck ( many thanks Kathie and others for the suggestion!)which was as great as we had been told. However the woman who carved the duck at the table told us they would be closing the restaurant temporarily. The dates were to be decided the next day but she expected it to be closed from " about 15 August for at least three months ". We were so glad to have experienced it in time. So if you intend to go soon, give them a call to get the latest info.

I do love the brunch as Lord Jim's, so I guess we'll do that instead!

Pandas are endangered. I'm sure they will have the common sense to re-open before we are there in late November.

And I was really going to try to make it there for lunch week after next. I've put it off for years mearly because I don't feel like going way across town to get there. Oh, well, I might just have to wait unless the renovation ends up starting later than planned. We all know how things seldom run on time in Bangkok. Smiles. Happy Travels!

Do hope you can all make it. Dear Kathie, that is the unkindest cut of all to think you of all people may miss out! Fingers crossed.

Actually she said late October so early November for your birthday, Kathie, may be a bit iffy.
