China- Flights within China-luggage allowable

It is a possibility I may be booking a flight from Beijing to Shanghai, does anyone know how much luggage would be allowed. I was planning on taking 2 check-in bags with me on my flight into China - would this be too much luggage on a flight within China from one city to another?

The reason I'm asking is that when I was in the UK, I was only allowed to check -in one bag for flight within the UK.

Can anyone help out on this? Thanks!

Call Air China. I went from Beijing to Tibet and was allowed one carry on and one check in.

1 carryon and 1 check-in on domestic flights for free, if you bring a 2nd check-in piece, you'd have to pay for it.

Frankly, I have not heard of an one checked bag rule. For example, on Air China's website, it only says the free baggage allowance is 20kg/44lb per passenger in coach, and the w+h+d total for each piece has to be 115cm or less.

And if you have excess, usually all you need to do is pay.

I have been traveling quite a bit through China (have gold card on Air China's frequent flyer program) but have not encountered restrictions on the number of pieces of luggage allowed....
