China Eastern Airline "Business Class" worth it?
My travel agent said that with China Eastern Airline, I can get an upgrade (Vancouver Canada to Shanghai return) from economy to business class for only about $500US.
Has anyone flown with China Eastern and give me an opinion on whether it's worth it? it seems pretty cheap - just some $250 for the upgrade each way. But if the seats are more or less the same I canuse that extra money for a few good meals. Thanks |

What aircraft are they using on this route? I've flown the A346 in business between LAX and PVG. Seating is 2-2-2 with what I estimate to be around 60" pitch and reasonably good recline.
Here are a couple of cabin photos: http://tinyurl.com/lkav5 http://tinyurl.com/m4llj Catering leaves much to be desired and entertainment options are limited, but as far as seats go, there's no simply comparison to economy. $250 each way seems like a steal! I haven't flown their A343, but from what I understand, the business class seats on this aircraft have more limited recline and pitch. |
Make that "simply no comparison".

Thanks Patty.
I don't know what plane they will use for the Vancouver - Shanghai route, but I guess I will go business class for just a little bit more money, especially when the flight is about 8 to 9 hours. |
YVR-PVG is about 12 hours, PVG-YVR almost 10, actually flying time.
Definitely pay for the upgrade. |
Thanks.
I found a website called Seatexpert -which has more airline listed than Seatguru. China Eastern Airline is listed there and shows the seat arrangement. For the A346, business class arrangement is 2-2-2, economy is 2-4-2, while first class is 1-2-1. http://seatexpert.com/_ChinaEastern_...ree_class.html |
