China Airlines

I'd appreciate all the perspective I can get from those who have flown China Airlines within the last year or so.

i flew with them in october 2002, so i hope this helps: from beijing to xi'an we had a full meal -- you don't see that often on short flights! and it was pretty good too. standard 747 plane, with fun toiletries in the lavatories; check out the "china air" cologne. hee hee. our flights were on time as well. we had to to be shuttled from the terminal to the plane though, no walkway into the terminal.

The flight from Beijing to Xi'an may have been with Air China, but could not have been with China Airlines--a Taiwanese airline not permitted to fly to and from the mainland, let alone between points within it.

I recently booked a flight with China Air, but cancelled as a result of seeing these statistics...

Sorry if this spooks you, but you should know about their safety record.

Good Service, BUT poor safety records.
So, I'll try to avoid them.

A follow up to an earlier post regarding cancelling a ticket with China Air...costs $75 to cancel.
