Chicago GTG

I'd be happy to arrange one for early spring. Happy to pick a restaurant or even host in my apartment. I know Carol is interested. Who else and what month works best?

You know you can count on me, unless it falls during my April trip to Europe.

I'd be interested.

Most definitely interested. I live here, so most times are good for me.

Baseball will start in April, but I really don't recommend seeing a game in Chicago that early, unless you wear several layers of polar fleece!

I'd be interested if my work schedule permits.

Gpanda Jan 23rd, 2006 10:44 AM

I'm actually in Chicago sometime in the spring for a family obligation. If the dates match and Bob does not come, I would love to attend.

Kathie Jan 23rd, 2006 10:59 AM

Gloria, I'd love to come to a Chicago gtg, it's a matter of my schedule. I'll watch as the dates get set and see if I can make it there!

SJLBK Jan 28th, 2006 09:39 PM

Slight hijack, but Gloria - I am really interested to know what some of your favorite Thai restaurants are in Chicago! I have several that I frequent, but can be hit or miss. There are one or two very good ones though. I am sure if anyone knows the best, most authentic ones, it would be you!

Here are some possible weekends for the Chicago GTG

April 1, 2
April 22, 23
April 29,30
May 13, 14
June 24, 25

Let's figure out which day works best for most of you. If none of these work I'll come up with some other dates.

SJLBK Jan 31st, 2006 01:19 PM

Any of the April dates are best for me. I will be gone on the May date (bachelorette party) and coming back from Thailand (honeymoon) on June 23, so that weekend might be a little rough.

simpsonc510 Jan 31st, 2006 05:30 PM

The April dates may be tough, but of those the 22/23 is probably the best. I'll be a Pheasant Run that weekend for a show. The 1/2 of April is not good for me. The 29/30 would probably be OK. May is doubtful, as I may be back in BKK then.

glorialf Jan 31st, 2006 05:57 PM

Are you back, Carol? Hope you had a good flight. So which of the two April weekends would be best for you?

simpsonc510 Jan 31st, 2006 07:12 PM

Yes, Gloria, I'm back safe and sound in my own home once again. The flights were really not all that bad today. We had a big tailwind so the NRT to ORD flight landed one hour early!! I had exit row seats all the way home so no one sitting in front of me, plenty of leg room, and time to unwind. It's good to be home again.

Either of the two April weekends would probably be OK for me. I'll be at Pheasant Run the 22/23 for a show, but could leave the venue and meet up with fodorites somewhere. DH would not care (too much)... I just need to have my own car so he can get around once the show is over for the day.
