Does anyone know what the weather is like in Chiang Mai in July? Is it rainy season then? Is it a bad time to visit Chiang Mai?

We were in Chiang Mai last July. It was hot and humid, but not as bad as in Bangkok. We had some afternoon showers one day but it is not the rainy season. I think anytime is a good time to visit Chiang Mai--plenty to see and do, a slower pace than Bangkok, and wonderful shopping, especially in the handicraft villages on the outskirts of the city.
