Chiang Mai hotel - Novotel or Duangtawan
Sorry -- my last posting for the day!
Getting down to the crunch, not much availability for the peak period we are going in. So far, can only find decent priced rooms at either Novotel or Duangtawan --- which one would you pick if you had to? Or, any advice on others we're overlooking for about $40-50US/night?
Thanks!

Because I tend to like places that are small and unique...
Have you tried Baan Deva Montra, Karinthip, Yaang Come Village, Tamarind Village, Tri Yaan Na Ros, Belle Villa, Baan Orapin...? These places had availability over Christmas when I checked a couple of weeks ago. Have you tried checking for availabity through a service like sawadee.com? If you wanted to stay outside of the city, there are lots and lots of places in your range as well.

Duangtawan has much better location, Rydges is also another one in that price range. Novotel it out of the center of town.
If you just want a couple of days and be close I would go for Duangtawan
www.chiang-mai-hotels.itgo.com gives ideas and suggestions and then goes thru to sawadee anyway, but gives you ideas.
