Chengdu restaurants?
So, I guess I need to start planning specifics for my upcoming trip to Tibet. We will be spending a day or two on each side in Chengdu and I can't find any thread on this forum about restaurants there. I find that hard to believe because, well isn't Chengdu famous for its food? Especially Hotpot? Can anyone help me out here? The spicier the better :)

There are several other websites and food blogs where you can get info on restaurants. There are also a Bizarre Food and a No Reservations episodes about Chengdu. One of the restaurants that sounds intriguing is Yu Family Kitchen. I will be in Chengdu from 21-24 October 2013 and would like to dine there with my wife. Would anyone care to join us? The more diners, the cheaper the meal.

Great Gerard. I don't know how I missed No Reservations in Chengdu - I bought I'd seen them all! I will certainly check out your suggestions. I'd join you but we will be there later in October and then again in mid-November. I've read about the Yu Family Kitchen so if you get the chance, let us know what you think. Thanks a bunch.

We enjoyed the hot pot at Longsen Garden. So good we went there twice.

If you wanna taste the hot food in Chengdu, there are a lot of choice for you. Jingli, Kuanzai xiangzi, the Dragon Dumplings of Chunxilu, all these are local feature.
