center point silom - renovations
 

please be advised that the center point silom will be closed for renovation stating the first of october 2006 for a couple of months (i think will the end of the year)

does anyone know why the centre points have such lousy communications? I have sent several email to them (from their web site) and they never replied

i got a reply within 24 hours.
the funny part is that they offered me a price for the silom building, while it's not even available (renovations).
only after checking with someone else, they said "sorry, our mistake".

there are many other centre points in bangkok, you might try one of them...wireless rd, sukhumvit rd, luang suan rd, etc

based on this posting i sent centre point a message and asked for an explanation of the reservation situation...here is the response:

"please be informed that we are not going to close our property on october, 2006 {no date given}. but we will not accept the booking for the period which start from 1 september 2006 becasue of the renovation..."

i take this to mean that they will honor all current res but will not take any res after sept 1....but they do not say for how long...sounds like it could be until 2007???

they answered my inquiry in less than 24 hours...

after i got a quote from them, i've heard about the renovations (also the period after 1oct was blocked on their web site).

Thank you very much for your e-mail. Yes you are right. We just informed that there is the renovation at Centre point Silom, start on the first of September 2006.

I am sorry for your inquiry the room on 17 October 2006. Are you interest other location?

Since I am holding a reservation for Centre Point Silom for late November, booked through Sawadee.com, I frantically e-mailed after reading here of October 2006 renovations. Got a reply from Sawadee this morning that they checked with the Centre Point Silom and renovations will not begin until March 2007. Don't know if that means they are honoring existing reservations only, avoiding new long term reservations or what, but in the absence of concrete new information will probably stick with my reservation.

capatol--that's interesting based on my communication with the corporate office within the last week...

i think i would pick up the telephone and call CPS directly....remember the 12 hour time change....worth the expense...

i think i would also have a res back-up that can be cancelled...i suspect that if you arrive and it is closed, that they would send you to one of their other locations....i also would have sawadee's phone number handy:

Good advice. In any case, I don't consider this to be the end of the conversation regarding Centre Point Silom. If situation remains murky I'll do some research and try to switch to one of the other properties.

after reading your posts, i've contacted again the Center Point reservation office.

here is the reply i got:

"Thank you very much for your e-mail inquiry information. Our renovation will be change to start on the first of March 2007.
Should you require further clarification or any assistance about your reservation, please do not hesitate to contact me at your convenience."

May East, can't tell you how pleased I am that two of us got identical responses from Centre Point Silom. Thanks for sharing.
