Celadon in Bangkok?
I have a set of celadon dinnerware from Siam Celadon in Chiang Mai and want to get more pieces (not necessarily matching). However, our next trip to Thailand will only take me to Bangkok and Hua Hin. (The Bangkok stop was added after I learned that Hua Hin has limited shopping -- my husband isn't thrilled but understands, especially since he'll be getting in plenty of golf time). Can anyone recommend a celadon store in Bangkok that maintains a good inventory? If not, maybe I'll try to order some pieces from Chiang Mai and have them sent to my hotel.

one of the two CM celedon stores has a shop on the corner of sukumvit and another main street (the street which comes from the queen's convention center (sorry i don't remember the name, but it is a major street)....their inventory is extremely limited we feel....my wife doesn't even want to stop there anymore....
if i were you i would e-mail them in CM and ask if they would ship a parcel to you at your bkk hotel....i feel that they would do that...or maybe to the bkk store if it is the same company or to one of their reps in bkk....ask them to suggest to you a method of receiving it....i'm sure they will assist you....
as for hua hin...there is no shopping there that amounts to anything in our opinion....it is a great little town and you will enjoy yourselves there if golf and sun are of interest to you..
make sure you visit La Mer Restaurant on the hill above the hyatt hotel--go at nite it is beautiful---simply faboulous fish while you overlook the beach with twinkling lites....go at dusk for best effect....

Celadon House is on the corner of Sukhumwit and Ratchadipasek/Asok - just around the corner from the skytrain stop. I agree that their inventory is at times sketchy, and if you are looking for something specific, it's not likely that you'll find it. Prices are also higher in Bangkok than at the factories in Chiang Mai. The suggestion for the trip to Chiang Mai is excellent. Thai Air offers 15 or so flights a day up there, so you could be on an early a.m. flight, spend the day shopping and return to Bangkok in the evening.

Thanks. I contacted Siam Celadon and they will deliver the pieces I want to my hotel in Bangkok for a very small fee. Although I love the shopping in Chiang Mai, I don't want to go for only one day, it's just too hectic for me.
