I have heard that some websites are blacked out in China. I will need to check my AOL email account during an upcoming stay. Should I anticipate any issues?

I don't think you should have any issue. We don't use AOL, but we were able to access our email (gmail) throughout our entire stay with no problem.

I was able to access my AOL account when I was in China in March.
