C ambodia accommodation ?

Looking for pleasant and boutique-style accommodation in Cambodia..

Current considerations are:

Siem Reap: Viroths, or the FCC. (Have stayed in the Bopha Angkor, and loved the pool area...but the bedroom and bathroom were a bit tatty).

Phnom Penh: The Blue Lime or the Pavilions.

Kep: No idea...so need suggestions.

Also some suggestions for a romantic meal.....outdoor dining at the FCC will be hard to beat...but your suggestions may help find an alternative....

Finally, as I have suffered a stroke during the past 12 months, all suggestions should not include lots of stairs....I'm not as nimble as I used to be...

The trip to Cambodia is to mark our 40th wedding anniversary.....Can't afford Italy!!!

Sorry to hear about your health issues but glad to hear that you're still traveling!

In Siem Reap we were really pleased with La Residence D'Angkor. Beautiful grounds and pool, good breakfast, pleasant room, excellent management, convenient city-center location.

Because there were 3 of us, we had a "suite" which was a large room with a spacious balcony. The regular rooms overlook either the river or the pool with smallish balconies. My only caveat is that the bath/shower is visible from the bedroom. Evidently this is a common design feature in upscale boutique properties these days, but I'm not thrilled with it.

PS, There's an elevator.

Siem Reap - you might look at the Suites & Sweet. Far removed from the city but quite nice. Might be a really good place for an anniversary.

PP - Make sure you make your needs known to the Blue Lime, as many rooms are up a lot of stairs (they do have pool villas now). The same owner has opened a new property called "The 240" which might be an option.

Kep - Knai Bang Chat or Champey Inn. No stairs at Champey for sure.
