Burma awaits us
Planning a 6 day trip to Burma -mother daughter trip. mother is 60 and daughter 26. Can you help us with your thoughts of must see sights, and how to plan with the least number of small jumper flights within the country. Many thanks in advance. Trip is scheduled tentatively for early november.

6 days = 5 nights so not a lot of time. My first proper trip to Myanmar was for 6 nights or 7 days and this is what we did:
1. Upon arrival in Yangon we went straight to Inle Lake. Spent 2 nights here.
2. Next we visited Mandalay for 1 night.
3. Next it was Bagan for 2 nights.
4. Then to finished of the trip we spend the last night in Yangon.
Since you will have 1 less night then what I did I would suggest skipping Mandalay.

I agree with Hanuman. You have very little time, so spend as much of it as you can in Bagan and Inle Lake - two nights each, which is barely enough to glimpse these amazing places. Spend your last night in Yangon before you fly out. With such limited time, you really will have to fly between destinations. Get the earliest morning flight from Bangkok to Yangon, and transfer to a domestic flight to HeHo for Inle Lake. AFter two nights (which is just one full day), fly to Bagan for two nights, then back to Yangon. You will want to have a local agent make all of your arrangements for you ahead of time. I used Santa Maria for both of my trips. (If you click on my name you will find my trip reports)
ANy chance you can add a few days? If you had three nights in each Bagan and Inle and a night in Yangon that would be enough for a taste of Burma.

Chilly? I don't know where you live, but the only place that might be chilly would be Inle Lake out on the lake early in the morning. You'll need layers, perhaps a windbreaker. Mostly it will be hot. Yangon is the hottest city I;ve visited in my mnay years of traveling in SE Asia.

It was chilly when you were there, Filmwill. We had been warned and even took gloves along as per Femi's suggestion, but didn't need them. I didn't know if that was just the difference is being accustomed to California weather vs. Seattle weather or not.
Ahem... I'm still looking forward to your report.
