Wow, thanks Femi. Your pictures are astonishing. I actually got goose bumps on the third? picture of the pagoda all lit up at night. I grew up in Burma and left at age 9 and have never been back so it is fantastic for me to see these. I heard my old school had been turned into a small hotel or bed and breakfast. I wonder if it is where you stayed. It was a large white mansion.

I hadn't read this in a while and it was nice to relive the experience. I'd even forgotten that I'd posted pictures.
I'm assuming you were referring to living in Yangon/Rangoon. The Savoy is a white 3 (or is it 4?) storey building, but I don't know much about it's history.

It wouldn't be the same, but it would be fun to go back for another look. I'm thinking of a return visit myself...
