buffet food safety in Maldives?
Hi again--just wondering about the extensive use of buffets in the Maldive resorts--how safe is the food? Are power shortages a problem? Is leftover food stored and re-served at later meal times? How long do they leave the food out on the buffet table? Do any of the resorts address this in their advertising?

Hi
I think this depends a lot on where you go. My wife and I went to Sun Island in April 2004 and the power never failed on the island. The food was buffet style but a guy walked around to check that the temprature in the different dishes was OK. So I think that the food is pretty safe. I have posted a trip report and lots of pictures from our trip on my personal homepage gardkarlsen.com Maybe you can find some useful information there.
