Buddist Temples

Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone could help us. My husband and I are backpacking throughout Thailand and we are wondering what the etiquette is for going into a Buddist temple. Should I cover my head? Should he wear long pants? Should I? Any help would be appreciated. Cheers! http://hobosinlovemedia.com

A bunch of dont's here..

-Never take pictures of the Buddha. Other tourists may do it, but it is extremely disprectful

- Don't point your feet directly at the Buddha. In Thailand, as you may already know, the foot is the most base part of the body.

- wear Tevas or similar slip-ons if you plan on viewing many temples in one day, because you'll have to remove your shoes (though socks are generally okay)
- wear long pants

I think I got all the main points here...

Enjoy the trip! I'm sure it's going to be a wonderful experience for you and your husband.

One more item, your shoulders should be covered, no tank tops or sleeveless tops.
