British Air or Thai Air to Bangkok
 

Hi everyone,
After all of your wonderful help, we are now working on our airline reservations from either Newark or JFK to Bangkok. We found British Air from Newark to London to Bangkok for $1489 per person including all of the taxes and fares. We live closer to Newark but Thai Air from JFK was $1100 with everything per person and it is non-stop. Is this a no-brainer? We are curious about the comfort level in both going economy class. Any suggestions?

It's a no brainer. Take thai for a MUCH shorter flight. Also their economy is one of the roomiest around. I would also check out their premium economy -- if the price works do it.

Absolutely go for the Thai Airways flight without a second thought!
If you can get Thai for that fare no point looking elsewhere. There have been many postings here from people who have taken that flight.

If you had still to search flights remember there is nowadays not much need to transit through Europe hubs, Emirates has 3 flights per day from JFK to Dubai, 2 are non stop, and from there they have 3 a day onwards to Bangkok, and Dubai is a smooth airport to transit though. From Dubai to Bangkok is only about 5hrs 45. Etihad Airways fly non stop from JFK to Abu Dhabi and about same time onwards to Bangkok, but Emirates has the most flights.
Qtara Airways also starts soon, same thing, flight through to the Gulf and then onwards to Bangkok and elsewhere in Asia. All those airlines have superb service.

I don't know what is is like in the U.S but certainly in this part of ther world they all heavily discount Business Class.

But Thai non-stop, you can't beat that!

I'm not a BA fan. Even in business class the service can be sloppy.

Whose ff plan is emirates in. I've never considered them before but I know they are considered a good airline.

You can earn miles on Continental One Pass if you fly Emirates. Also United, Japan Air, Korean, Sri Lankan and South African are partners with Emirates. If you want to earn miles to a partner program, be sure you give your partner airline ff number, and be sure you understand any restrictions that there might be regarding earning miles with certain fare classes...sometimes the biggest discount fares are not eligible to earn miles...you have to check.

I would definitely go with Thai. We flew them from Bangkok to Auckland, we had a great flight on the Airbus A340 600 with a seating configuration of 2 4 2 and lots of leg room. They have the best legroom in economy class.

Thai, Thai, Thai. We flew economy in November and it was bar far the best flight to Asia we've ever been on.

Thai Air for sure. Lost count of the number of times I've flown with them, and never been less than completely satisfied.
