It would be petty to point out that this gathering of "world travellers" is taking place in "My Fair City". I hope some Asia Board types show up. One can only speak of chateaux and wine for so long.

"My Fair PINKO City"

rhkkmk Dec 23rd, 2004 05:19 PM

we are expecting that a good group of asia types show up....we love wine and chateaus but we love phad thai more!!!

CFW Dec 24th, 2004 04:19 AM

Wish we could come but we'll be enjoying the real thing in Thailand at the time!

DonTopaz Dec 24th, 2004 04:57 AM

I spend 75% of my travel time in Asia, 75% in Europe, and the other 60% here and there. Not sure what type that makes me.

Good choice of dates, between the AFC championship and SB. If the snow isn't flying, I'd hope to attend.

Craig Jan 3rd, 2005 05:18 PM

Jeane and I look forward to seeing any and all Fodorites from the Asia board and elsewhere at the Boston/Cambridge GTG.

ttt--- hoping to creat some more interest...

Gpanda Jan 12th, 2005 04:40 PM

Due to Bob's "persuasion", my wife Beth has agreed to attend. We look forward to meeting all, but especially those from this board. I can only take so much talk about how high the Euro has gotten.

Craig Jan 12th, 2005 05:35 PM

Andy, Both Jeane and I look forward to meeting you and Beth. Craig

rhkkmk Jan 12th, 2005 06:21 PM

great news.....kathie has agreed to be there in spirit also!!!

CFW Jan 13th, 2005 05:15 AM

Will be there in spirit also. In reality my husband Rob & I will be on the beach in Koh Lanta, after two weeks in Bangkok & Chiang Mai. So, maybe our spirit will not be there after all! Would love to make the next GTG to share experiences. This is our first trip to Thailand. We're leaving tomorrow & can't wait!

rhkkmk Jan 13th, 2005 06:01 AM

CFW--- you must be so excited!!!...the first of many thai adventures....after all your planning i hope it will be all you have planned for....

you will of course send fodors a trip report upon your return, i hope...

Gpanda Jan 13th, 2005 03:32 PM

Craig-looking forward to meeting you guys as well. Maybe we can section off an Asia seating. Bob will probably be going back and forth with the Europe/ Asia dichotomy. Sort of like Istanbul.

Craig Jan 13th, 2005 04:27 PM

Andy, it would be great to sit with an all Asiaboard group but I could certainly go along with an Istanbul-like bunch as well.

rhkkmk Jan 13th, 2005 05:40 PM

i love constantinople!!!!

Gpanda Jan 16th, 2005 02:37 AM

Good news. The Cambridge politburo has granted Bob a one day visa for 1/29/05. Sort of like Nixon's 1972 trip to China.

rhkkmk Jan 16th, 2005 07:04 AM

i'm still going to wear a bullet proof vest...never know with commies!!!
