Border frictions between Thailand and Cambodia?

Does anybody had trouble crossing the border(by road) between Thailand and Cambodia recently?
I have heard of armed confrontations in the northern part of the border, regarding a temple that seems to be claimed by both countries.Would appreciate any info.

Oh, you've been reading about Preah Vihear. That's been going on for at least a decade. That really isn't close to the Thai-Cambodia birder crossing people use to get from Bangkok to Siem Reap.

If you plan to overland from Bangkok to Siem Reap, take a look at www.talesfoasia.com This website gives you everything you need to know to get from Bangkok to Siem Reap without the scams. The biggest danger in the border crossing is over-paying for your visa or being urged to stay at a particular guesthouse and paying too much.

Actually, I should clarify - the current arguments over Preah Vihear have been going on for over a decade. The dispute is centuries old.
