Bophut, Koh Samui
 

I am interested in a beachfront bungalow in Bophut. It sounds a nice peaceful laid back place with a bit of night life close by. I want a really nice clean white beach with clear blue sea for swimming, snorkelling and diving.

Is this the place for me.

Also,do they sell budweiser??

The Peace Resort is lovely but if you are going for snorkelling and diving Bophut is not for you. Beautiful beach but the sand feels sort of muddy when you're in the water and therefore it is not as clear as it could be.

Bophut is a cute village, not so quiet, not so noisy. There are a few late night places. The beach isn't anything special...we found it on the dirty side, with plastic and glass scattered here and there. . Directly in front of the various resorts the sand is cleaner, but, like the previous poster mentioned, kind of muddy.

Personally, we found the beach where we stayed on the southeast part of the island to be lovely...clean, clear, quiet. Chawang and Lamai beaches have the beach you imagine, but are very, very developed with hotels and shops. If you are looking for nightlife, bars and restaurants, then Chawang and Lamai would be suitable.

Thank you for your help. A lovely beach and clean sea water is my priority. I definately do not to be situated in the middle of Chaweng. I have heard that the quieter end, towards Lamai is quieter but maybe doesn't have the character of Bophut.

Any suggestions where to stay in quiet Chaweng??

Chawang isn't really quiet in my opinion. Samui has just loads of places, and there probably is the perfect place for everyone somewhere on the island. Have you looked at sites like sawadee.com that list accommodations? Sawadee has pictures of places and a good map. I'd search there and maybe then ask if anyone has experience with the places t hat sound good to you.

I highly recommend looking into staying at the Samui Palm Beach Resort on Bhoput beach. It has beachfront bungalows that you're looking for; only eight however. I found it to be a nice quiet laid back resort and about 10-15 minutes from Chewang beach.
