Booking Yangtze Cruise
In September we want to take a three day cruise on either the East King or East Queen. Should we prebook? Where can we find the best rates? Thanks!
|
We took the East Queen trip leaving from Chongqing in May, 2004. We had the hotel in Chongqing purchase our tickets for us after we saw that the EQ was in port there. It's a great choice! I think we paid $400 each.
The EAst K/Q website gives departure dates for the trips. |
Thanks. We're going in mid September and I'm concerned that if we don't prebook we won't get on. The downside of booking from here is the rate: $800 pp. I'm wondering if I can prebook at a better rate or if we can count on just ticketing once in Chongqing.

Marija,
Is timing important? Are you dead-set on the East K/Q? If so, book ahead. We were flexible with time and I had selected 3 acceptable boats and their sailing dates which I printed off the internet and took with me. We just happened to arrive in Chongqing when the EQ was in port. |
Where will you be staying in Chongqing? You may want to check with your hotel in advance to see if they can prebook for you or recommend a local agency in Chongqing for prebooking. Last July we inquired about a 3 night cruise on East King/Queen (but didn't end up going) and were quoted approx. $360 by an agency in Chongqing.

Thanks to both of you!
