Booking A Hotel In Beijing
I didn't anticipate correctly how far in advance to book my pre-cruise Beijing plans. It has sold out and now I am finding it difficult to arrange something on my own. I expect to arrive in Beijing Mar 27, 2009 and wanted to spend 3 nights in Beijing before the cruise. I would like to stay at the Landmark Towers (close to the GW Sheraton that the cruise line uses, but has much better reviews) Everywhere I look on-line it is showing NO AVAILABILITY (including the hotel website), except Asiarooms. It looks like Asiarooms requires pre-payment I prefer not to pre-pay at this point in time and would like some ideas on a way to find availibility at this hotel and just make a guaranteed reservation.
This really isn't what I wanted to do (doing it on my own) I travel solo and I am very worried about being in Beijing on my own, but I don't want to miss out seeing it either. |
It's probably showing not available because it's too early, not too late.

Maybe I needed to be more clear. It is the cruise line package that is sold out. Yes, eyeski, I think it may be possible that I am seeing NO AVAILIBILITY when I look into booking the hotel myself because it may be too early. I hope that is the case. Either that or all the tour groups have these 2 hotels blocked. I am looking for a way to book without pre-payment, just a cc guaranteed reservation, if and when it becomes available.

The internet booking sites typically charge at least one night at the time they confirm the reservation. Usually, the only way to reserve a room with just a credit card guarantee is to contact the hotel or the hotel chain directly. So, for instance, if you decide on the GW Sheraton, you could call the Starwood number in the US and reserve with a credit card guarantee.

Yes,it is too early to book.they told you sold out because they don`t know the price for next year after the games.I guess.
