I've been thinking about doing another points card, but the $95/yr fee is steep. Is it waived for the 1st year?

If you add us on to your card Bob we promise to give you the 100,000 miles x the amount of cards you give us. Does no foreign fee mean no fees for foreigners?

I did this a year agao and got the 100,000 miles without the annual fee for 1 yeasr great deal but..... beware of trying to use BA flights. I am trying to book a Paris trip fronm Houston and they will sock you with over a $1,000 for two people - taxes, fees and hefty fuel charges! Not too easy using their partners either.

BillT- They charge you fuel fees on a FF ticket? Is that usual? I don't think I've ever seen that before.
Also, is it possible to transfer those miles to a partner, like American, for example?

i just used american on british on a combo ticket, so i suspect you can do the same in reverse.... not use them on american, but book through british for what ever airline partner flies that route...

Hard to get American seats and yes BA charges a small fortune for ff seats for their fees and taxes and fuel surcharges!

i will say that any flights through london have very large taxes/fees associated with it....

Leigh, my Italian friends would agree with you. They don't fly BA anymore, after having problems with tickets and lost luggage for several flights in a row.

I get too many benefits from United Chase card to switch at this point, but this offer of miles sounds pretty good!

We get most of our miles on AA, but BA is part of the One World alliance and we have flown it a number of times using our AA ff miles. We've had to book early, but don't believe we've paid any higher fees than we had to pay with AA when flying into Heathrow--which is what seems to determine the fees as well as the class that we're flying on. We broke up our trip to India this past fall by flying AA coach to London, BA business to Delhi, BA first return to London and AA coach back to NY. First wasn't as good as we remembered it, but the flat bed was great for a 3:00 a.m. seat and the service was lovely.

Guess it's always a case of personal experience and taste. We've had some unpleasant flights on AA and Jet Blue and other airlines. So far we've had a consistently good experience on BA.

I can't take advantage of this offer as I already have a Chase Visa BA, but I think my husband will and then we'll combine airlines when needed as we have in the past but only using AA miles.

BA's ff mile requirements ARE higher than AA's, but starting off with 100,000 is a pretty good deal.

520, i 've had same experience as yours: BA has been just fine both in past and recent flights. Have twice flown RT to India ,as well as to UK, with them, and np probs, even during the flight cutbacks last June (strike).

Agree, one of best things about this offer, is that BA is part of the One World Alliance.

For those with AA miles who may not yet know this: As of October 2010, you can earn AA miles on BA flights originating in the USA. Before then, you couldn't earn AA miles for the part of the flight originating in USA and crossing the Atlantic--eg on or flight to Banglaore, on BA, we got AA miles only for the e British Air flight from LHR to BLR--but not from SFO to LHR. Glad that has now changed.

To get the 100thousand miles you get 50thousand withthe first purchase-the second 50thousand when you spend 2500 in 3 months. I just signed up for it.
We cashed in all our American miles last year to fly to Cairo-the flight from Heathrow to Cairo was BA-best flight I've ever had(Business) We had lay down cubicles.
I am hoping to use the 100thousand next year for Singapore-with the 330 day in advance booking I may have to book 2 one ways. The annual fee doesn't bother me if I get business class seats-have been using all my miles for upgrades. C
