Bon Voyage, Laurieco
Have a wonderful trip to Malaysia, Laurie. As you know, I'm awaiting your report - especially about the leeches!
Have a great trip! |
Kathie, thank you. I'm quite excited about this trip. We leave tomorrow night and I can't wait! I'm NOT looking forward to the 25 1/2 hour flight however! I have absolutely no idea what to expect in Malaysia but I'm sure it will be a wonderful surprise. We get in Saturday (Malaysia time) at 12:30 pm. I have a 6pm massage already booked at the MO so that should help with the jet lag and body aches I'm sure I'll have after being stuck in coach for all those hours. Eric and I have a bottle of Dom Perignon which we're bringing (I won a "challenge" with Eric and this was the prize ;-) ) and we'll drink it the second night since I doubt we would enjoy it the first night.

Oh, and of course there will be a full trip report, with leeches taking center stage.
|
Have a fabulous trip!
|
Looking forward to hearing about your trip and to seeing you and Eric at the Boston GTG.
|
Have a blast! Happy Travels!
|
Thanks everyone for the good wishes. As you can imagine, I'm going nuts with last minute preparation. Like an idiot, I said I would work a half a day tomorrow since my flight isn't until 11:15pm. In retrospect, I wish I hadn't committed to work with things left to do but I'm sure everything will get done. The good thing is, by the time we get on the plane I'll be exhausted and maybe I'll be able to sleep.
I'll try and do some short trip reports from Malaysia and let all of you know our impressions. I'm looking forward to meeting those of you who will be at the Boston GTG, and LEECHES FOR EVERYONE WHO ATTENDS! |
may the leeches welcome you and bon voyage....see you in bean town

Laurie:

Hawaiiantraveller...I thought you might have fallen off the ends of the earth or something. Where have you and Mrs. HT been lately? Happy Travels!
|
have a wonderful and safe holiday. try not to 'donate' any blood, to leeches or to mozzies

Have a wonderful time in Malaysia. Not sure where you are going, but I think of the trip we took to Malaysia traveling by train from Singapore to Kuala Lampur for a few days, then to the Cameron Highlands and finally to Penang where we spent about 5 days. Really enjoyed Penang as we met a young lady in the Cameron Highlands from the US who offered us a ride to Penang. Then we spent those days seeing her in the evening when she was not working. I found Penang very interesting. The one place I am sorry we did not stop on this journey was in Malucca.
Know what you mean about the long flight as I fly from the Eastern part of the US. Will look forward to hearing about your trip. |
Guen:
We've been hanging in on the fringes lately, just plugging along till our next trip, can't wait. Aloha! |
hawaiiantraveler, the second bottle is Veuve Cliequot ;-)
Ciao all, talk to you from Kuala Lumpur! |
Well, here I am, stuck in Hong Kong with some time to kill. Our flight got into HK late and we missed our connecting flight to Kuala Lumpur so we were put on another flight arriving 4 hours later than we should have, essentially killing the whole day. We left NY over 24 hours ago and all I can think of is taking a shower and sleeping in a comfortable bed. Not a great beginning to our vacation but such is life and travel in the 21 century. Hopefully this will be the worst thing that happens, and in the scheme of things, it's not too terrible.
The new HK airport seems nice but I'm too tired to walk around much. Our flight from NY was anything but restful, it was more like the flight from hell. There was a baby in the row in front of us and he cried all the way from NY to HK. Needless to say, not much sleep on that flight! |
Hi, Laurie, May your next flight be smoother. It won't be long until you've checked in at the MO and are luxuriating there.
