On my short flight to Chiang Mai this morning am glancing through Thai Air's Sawasdee. This is what they write about Bolan "The chefs DEuangporn Songvisava and Dylan Jones both worked at the prestigious Nahm in London, so you can imagine how good Bolan is.............and some of the creations are so authentically Thai even native diners fess up to never having heard of them. Expect earthy, spicy, and fiery notes in every dish.
The Gastronomic menu of 11 dishes 1500 baht p.p. which of course in NYC terms is very reasonable. Now the question is how long will they be able to keep their integrity, with all the press that is happening? Would like to try them on my return to Bangkok end of November, but need a table mate. Any volunteers out there? |
me, i volunteer, but depends on date. what day do you have in mind?
Get back to BKK on the 24th which is open, 25th GTG, 26th is open am not sure about 27th or 28th.
Nywoman, Ken, enjoy BoLan. Brad and I are headed there tonight, taking Maeng with us, since Maeng cooks for Dylan sometimes, he will now cook for Maeng. Seems only fair!
Nywoman, enjoy Chiang Mai... and then on to Myanmar, right? BTW, I saw that write up in the Sawasdee magazine on Thai the other day when the three of us flew to CM. Carol |
nywoman, 24th is good for me, but 26 is also ok. i sent you an email.
should we all go for dinner on the 28th?? we would then write the definitive report, or at least for that sitting...??
I believe that I have a formal dinner that night, if it is Saturday?
are you suggesting that a dinner with us would not be formal??
I had the Gastronomic menu of 11 dishes for 1500 baht p.p. Loved it. Will go again.
What I meant is that I have a previous engagement at the Rembrandt for a Swedish Christmas dinner. Apparently it is not formal and you are all invited.
