Black slacks in tropic climate

I have a question - do people in Hong Kong and Thailand wear black slacks or mostly light colors beacuse of tropic climate?
This is for October. I know that in summer we prefer ear light colors, but in fall darker. What about in tropics when there is always summer?

My trusted comfy lightweight black slacks would be comfortable to wear, at least in the evening for nice places, but would I stick out?

thanks

You will find people wearing a full range of colors. The important factor for you will be whether they are light and comfortable. You've said they are, so you will be fine.

I wore light weight nylon black slacks day and night in Thailand in November and December - no problem.
If they work for you - they work.

thanks! This will help eliminate one extra pair and leave more place for shopping.

Black seemed to be "the color" wherever we were in Thailand, whether on locals or tourists. That's not to say we didn't see lighter colors, but if limiting your wardrobe, go with what is most comfortable for you.

Hong Kong is a cosmopolitan place--people do wear dark clothes during the day and night--but of much lighter material. Silk, linen, microfiber, stretch, cotton with spandex, etc. You might also be in airconditioned places lots of times, and people even have blazers or shawls for evening. Duringthe day you may want to be in khakis or lighter colored clothes--but stay away from loud colorful prints as you will stand out like a sore thumb--specially in Central (the business district). The only place I dont bring black slacks to is Hawaii... lighter colors always look nicer against the greenery and the blue sea. Asia is a "black" place--everyone wears it all year round. Have fun!

the typical older thai lady wears pritty bright colored. blue, purple. pink. light green slacks with floral shirts.. the younger girls tend to stick with TIGHT jeans and black slacks, god bless them.

The reason they wear darker colors is that most of the cities are dirty and light colors get dirty faster. Also, unless your of oriental decent, your going to be noticed.
