BKK weather last week August through first week of September?
 

Hi all. I did a search for weather conditions here and on the net, but its hard to discern what the weather (rain) will be like at the above time period. Weather is only giiven for each specific month, and not in the adjoining periods. Should the rain be significant during daytime AND, especially at night, from 7pm-2am? Reason being is I like to go out to clubs/lounges/restaurants (non-redlight stuff) and would hate to be in the rain during those times. Thanks so much if u can help,

On the average year you can expect about 1 to 3 hours of rain during the day, usually late afternoon, for August and Spetember. However, there's always a chance that there will be some kind of a weather front, usually the tail end of a typhoon which made landfall in Vietnam or the South of Thailand. If that happens then it can rain for days non stop.

People still go out to restaurants and clubs when it rains but not when it's pouring down with thunder!

Lol, thanks a lot Hanuman. Bangkok is my favorite place at nighttime. Its so beautiful.. I'd hate for it to rain then. Do u think I should restrain myself and wait until Mid-October? I've been suffering myself watching youtube videos of street food markets!! 3 months seems like such a long time :P

Easy to catch taxis to clubs. No one can predict rain for u day to day. One week maybe dry while the next is fairly wet.

In my example, if there's a typhoon that had just made landfall in Vietnam you will be able to predict with utmost certainty and accuracy if it will rain in parts or the whole of Thailand for the next few days.

Prachaup your refusal to answers questions about the inaccurate comments that you have made is not very useful and IMO is making this forum full of your bad advices.

Hi Prachuap. Not paranoid. Just want to make it clear that I'm not a sex tourist, since I did say previously that I am recently divorced and coming to Bkk solo. Thanks for the encouragement to come there... I've decided to wait til mid October to minimize the risk of marathon rainstorms.

Thanks, Pra. Its just less exciting when it rains when going out on the town and having fun. Nothing like a beautiful clear night in Bangkok..

If you want to minimize the risk of rain, move your trip to November. October is often rainy in Bangkok. The times I have arrived in Bangkok in late October, there was minor flooding around the river and it rained daily. Into November, it is much drier. And if you can manage to be in Bangkok for Loy Krathong, that's a real treat.
