What about SIM Card for GSM phone. I already bought one on ebay for BKK, will that same SIM work in Siem Reap? I also the World Connect Plan with Cingular, it gives a slight rate discount for international calling, but I usually only like to use that if I can't get a local sim, or when I am at airports or soemthing between flights and countries if I need to get a hold of someone.
thanx,

Just to throw out a suggestion, have a look at
www.theplf.org
Those that have gone before you have had their experience in Siem Reap greatly enriched by connecting with the community in this way.

Just an update, I had emailed Ponheary last week and I heard back from her over the weekend, we have exchanged a few emails, and I have tenatvtivly set my travel dates to Angkor Wat for December 23-26. And I have also just about talked my freind into coming along to, so maybe this won't be a solo trip afterall.

If you are still planning to visit Phnom Penh as well I might suggest the following. Fly Bangkok Air to Siem Reap (one way). From SR take a bus (Mekong Express is the best at $9) to PP, a 5hr trip along a good road and see some of the country side and small villages. Stay here for a few days, see the main sites and then fly back to Bangkok on Air Asia (a discount airline) for around $50. Lots of good hotels in PP and at far less cost than those in expensive SR.

thanks Scotters, for the info. I have been thinking about Phnom Phenh as well. Thats a really good price on Air Asia. Since my freind may be going now as well, she had planned on just staying in BKK while I went to Cambodia, but she is slowly changing her mind. I would feel better about the journey to PP if I had someone with me, so if she goes I will definetly look into that.
thanks again for the info
