BKK - Fake Coach Purse

I know it is not right to buy a knockoff (copyright laws, etc.) but my sister in law really wants me to pick one up for her while in BKK. The last thing I want to do is hunt the city for one since I am not a big shopper myself so does anyone have any idea where to pick up the latest style in fake Coach purses in BKK? THANKS

try the sukhumvit road area across the street from the Sheraton Grand. We saw alot of fake coach bags last March when we were there but I am afraid that fakes are like the soup de jour. What they have that day is what you'll get.
We also noticed alot of fakes in the night market in the Patpong area. Good luck!

Aloha!

Earlier this year I saw some very nice Coach copies in MBK mall. They were on the 1st floor, smaller purses were $25-30 (before bargaining, of course!)

I bought a couple of fakes at the Pearl Market last year, but even though I bought the "good fakes" they still fell apart within a few months, so don't count on quality. I finally gave up on fakes and bought a genuine Coach purse and wallet on our last trip to NYC.

Interesting how you put that, that you know it is not right but you are planning on doing it anyway because SIL really wants it.

my biggest shopping disappointment was the "fake" purses.
You can get better copies on the streets of any large city in Noth America.
They looked like fakes, and the real thing was more expensive than at home.

I found it rather surprising that US Customs and Border Patrol has this "one fake purse per person policy"...

Articles bearing marks that are counterfeit or inappropriately using a federally registered trademark are subject to seizure and forfeiture. The importation of articles intended for sale or public distribution bearing counterfeit marks may subject an individual to a civil fine if the registered trademark has also been recorded with CBP. Articles bearing marks that are confusingly similar to a CBP recorded registered trademark , and restricted gray market articles (goods bearing genuine marks not intended for U.S. importation for which CBP granted gray market protection) are subject to detention and seizure.

However, travelers arriving in the United States may be permitted an exemption and allowed to import one article of each type, which must accompany the person, bearing a counterfeit, confusingly similar or restricted gray market trademark, provided that the article is for personal use and is not for sale.

This exemption may be granted not more than once every 30 days."
