Bicycling in Vietnam

I'm keen to hear from anyone who has done a cycling trip in Vietnam with kids (10, 13).TIA

Head to the Mekong Delta. It's relatively flat, and there are several companies that run bike tours from there. During my 2011 solo trip to SEA, I desperately wanted to take a bike trip there, but it was not cost-effective to go alone, since they always have a back up van. In 2013, while in Burma, we met a bunch of people in those black stretchy shorts who were biking their way through Asia. Their favorite stop, they told me, was the Mekong.

Hopefully, I'll get there someday....

We met a couple of women when we were in Sri Lanka who worked for Spice Roads in VN doing bicycling trips. What they described sounded interesting.

Thanks, we have now organised a 3 day tour of the Mekong that involves some riding. Can't wait.

Great news, Kazza. Please report back about how it went.

Kathie, your Spice Roads suggestion was great. They have a reasonable single supplement price. Maybe I will get to go eventually as well.

It sounds very interesting to go on a bike trip with kids. Be aware of the polluted air in Vietnam's big cities that may harm your kids' respiration. It'd be better if you take the bike tour in Nha Trang or Phu Quoc.
