Bhutan: is it worth $200/day?

I am going to be travelling in SE Asia during the 2nd quarter of 2003. I am unfortunately going to be living off a limited budget, I could probably afford $200/day for about 1 week. Should I go to Bhutan or use the money elsewhere?

Bhutan is one of the most incredible place I've ever visited. It is one of the few countries whose culture is still intact. There are few places like it in the world. I think it is more than worth $200 a day.

I did not think it was worth the expense. It is a beautiful country, but so are the countries around it. There were TV atennas with prayer flags on them, so much for keeping progress out.

Any suggestions for tour operators in Bhutan? I know that I have to use a government approved guide, but there seem to be many such guides.

Bhutan is teriffic. You need to go beyond Thimphu to see the real Bhutan.
Believe me, there are no TV sets.
Look into Far Fung Places for really
great itineraries.
