Bhutan in October

I just booked a 12 day trip to Bhutan in October through Aman resorts - has anyone done this? I am an avd trekker but my husband is not - will he find other things to do? Anyone know what kind of electric converter would be needed? What is the weather? I am interested in any information you can offer?

I am amazed that you did not research this trip before booking it, i.e. weather, converters. I am also amazed that you arranged a trip where you knew in advance that there were things that your husband would not enjoy without seeing if there were alternatives. Good luck on your trip and in life.

You might start by buying yourself a good guidebook. Lonely Planet offers the best guide to Bhutan.

You are required to have a local guide. Perhaps teh Aman is arranging this for you. If your husband doesn't trek and you do, are you hiring two different guides?

One of my friend did this but for only 7 nights. I think you will be move around to 3 or 4 different Aman hotels and towns in Bhutan as part of the itinerary.

According to my friend the food was good and the activities kept them interested. There wasn't much to do outside the hotel especially for food but then again the price offered is full board at the hotel.

I think you should send an email to Amankora and ask them about converters and such. October can get quite cold so be prepare.

Have a good trip and I hope that you will write a trip report on this site.

Go to the FlyerTalk Luxury hotels forum and search for Amankora, there are several people who stayed there.

You can always contact Aman directly, in my experience they are extremely nice and will gladly answer all your questions.

From what I have read they have suggested itineraries, which you can adjust as much as you like. You will have a driver and guide at your disposal and you can decide what and how much you want to do.
