beware passport

just to let you know that my friend got refused entry into bangkok because his passport was slighty torn on apge

DonTopaz Feb 7th, 2009 01:31 PM

Everyone panic!!

Jaya Feb 7th, 2009 03:07 PM

Huh?

Sure it was the slightly torn page and not something more legit?

MichaelBKK Feb 9th, 2009 01:10 AM

Really, you should have seen my last passport - three batches of added pages, many torn, and more. Sure it wasn't the cover that was torn, so that there may have been a fear that the chip had been tampered with?

crellston Feb 9th, 2009 07:15 AM

If the plastic "sealed" page containinng photo/chip is damaged in any way then many countries will refuse entry on the base that it may have been stolen and being used fro nefariuos purposes. Quite right too. We either take security seriously or we don't. I know which I prefer!

the chip was perfect and the picture a page was slighty torn he was deported right alway he wasnt stopped leaving london so who was to blame apart from the holder

Jaya Feb 10th, 2009 05:46 AM

Still sounds sketchy. There's more to this that either your friend isn't telling you or you're not telling us.

Well, you can pop off and rent a room from him and ask him yourself, if you like:

Dog

You are the master at sleuthing, were you ever a copper?

BradinBangkok Feb 11th, 2009 12:36 PM

My Passport is a wreck. I carry it every day because I travel so much.

I go through Immigration in Bangkok several times a year.

No problem.

dogster Feb 11th, 2009 09:23 PM

lol Smeagol, 'tis true - I love a bit of detective work. This all came from a lengthy time tracing my family history. I learnt about the mysteries of Google search. lol. That's about the depth of it.

Get Google on your task bar, do a search on a key word or two - and Voila! Hercule Poirot le Dog Detective, at your service.

A click on their name in here can be quite instructive as well. And canine intuition...
