Best way to get to Ko Samui from Penang?
Hello,
We are trying to book a flight from Penang, Malaysia to Ko Samui on June 25(+/- 1 day).
We have a resort booked for a week in both places.
How do we book on a sealed flight?
Our travel agent tells us they don't have access to the "PG51xx" flights.
Does anyone have any tips on how to do that?
Thanks,

No idea what you mean by PG51 or “sealed flights” , but suggest that you check out Skyscanner, google flights or similar for options (or find a better travel agent!) . If by sealed you mean connecting flights on the same ticket, I doubt that is possible. Your best bet will likely be to fly PEN to BKK and then Bangkok Airways to KS. I think Bangkok still have monopoly on flights to KS

Bangkok Airways (PG) doesn't fly to/from Penang. Neither does Firefly. Thai Airways says nothing available on your dates. PG doesn't fly SIN-> USM on the 24th or 25th but they do on the 26th.
Looks like your best option is to fly on the 26th, PEN-SIN on SQ and PG for SIN-USM. It is a 9h 50m trip which is much better than any other option which were over 20 hrs and cost more and some had 2 stops.
You can book this for US$216 / 912 MYR per person today at singaporeair dot com
(your TA should be able to book it if you don't want to DIY)
if this posts then the problem was the link to the SQ website.

oh, it doesn't like https, so just http would work. the SQ website
http://www.singaporeair.com/
\use the multi-city option for a one-way ticket, just don't add a second flight.
Also, it looked like there is a minibus to ferry option

I had almost forgotten but a years ago, on one of our longer SE Asia jaunts, we got the train from Butterworth (just across the water from Penang) up to Surat Thani in Thailand and got the ferry across to KS. Given the connections , check in times etc. required to fly, it probably wouldn’t take any longer and would definitely be more fun!
Another option, which we did in the opposite direction, is to get the ferry from Penang, up the Andaman Coast to Phuket and get the bus and ferry across to KS. Takes longer and frankly, I would likely just change hotels from KS to Phuket or Koh Libong or one of the other island at which the ferry stops en route.

Malaysia Airlines has nonstops from Penang to Phuket on the 24th and 26th ($70 or $60)
depart 2:20PM arrive 2:35PM, duration 1h `15m
Bangkok Airways has nonstops from Phuket to Koh Samui on those days ($85)
departures at 12:45PM, 2:35PM, and 7:50PM, duration 0h 55m
so you could make that trip the same day, departing PEN at 2:20PM and arriving USM at 8:45PM
separate ticket purchases but you'd have over 5 hours to make the connection and the price is right
