best time of year for India

and the worst time to go?

Hi all,

I am hoping to make it to India before a full year is out! I really cannot deal with hot hot weather so I'm trying to figure out the best time to go and shoot for that. Any recos on good months to go?

I plan to visit, for my first time, the "Golden Triangle".

thank you very much.

To be on the safe side, the range you should look at is Nov 15 - Feb 15.

The November 15 to February 15 recommendation is really conservative. We were there in the last two weeks of February into early march and it was never hot (low '70's max). Even if the temps approach the low 90's, what's so bad about that? - it will still be dry.

Craig,

Since the original poster said she was very sensitive to heat I gave a conservative time range. You are right, there is nothing wrong with 90s weather but for some people even that can be "hot hot." Perhaps flygirl should specify the outer bound of the temperature range she is comfortable with:-)

well, low 90s with NO humidity is bearable, but, for all day running around outside might not be optimal.

I was in Rome recently and it was low 90s with fairly low humidity and given that the buildings are tall enough and some are fairly close, it wasn't too bad (shade) but if there were no shade I'd be unhappy. (we spent a fair amount of time in the Forum and thankfully I was wearing a hat!)

thank you for the replies!
