Best pool in Siem Reap for kids

We'll be splitting our stay between Marina Villa (Ponheary's place) and a place with a pool for T to enjoy. We have plenty of places to choose from, I know, but I'm curious what the opinion is about the best pool for kids. I love the look of the Hotel de la Paix, but wonder if it isn't a bit too serious for a 9 year old to truly enjoy.

The pool at the Day Inn is nice. Its in a grass courtyard rather than the concrete of some other hotels. My kids, teens, liked it.

My kids loved the pool at the Sofitel. They had pretty decent pizza there as well.

I agree that the Sofitel pool is lovely. We wound up spending all our time at the temples and Tonle Sap so only my 16-year old actually got to swim alas but he and two travel friends enjoyed it. We did take one lunch by the pool -- Dara always brought us somewhere for a lunch break so one day we opted to return to the hotel.

Our other favorite pools are at the riverside Marriott in Bangkok and the Shangri-la in Singapore. The Golden Triangle Anantara pool was appealing because of the beautiful setting but the Sofitel Siem Reap pool is both grand in scale and lovely in design.

I thought the pool area at the Bopha Angkor was great. Smallish, but very private and not used a lot by most guests. The hotel itself is gorgeous and has great atmosphere. Only 2 storey, and the rooms have great character. It's website www.bopha-angkor.com is very honest. It was the best place in which I stayed. Excellent restaurant, and only a 5 min walk from the Foreign Correspodents' Club which has an outstanding and very romantic restaurant. It also has an excellent pool and accommodation. Google for it.

We stayed at the Raffles and the pool is large, lovely, and there were some other kids. I'll let you know after Christmas what our kids think. The rates are not bad except at Christmas and the place does have a special feel. For you, the spa if fab!
