If you are going to Phuket Mom Tri's Boathouse Restaurant used to do them.

I did a cooking class which I enjoyed at Pimilai on Koh lanta near Krabi. The class included four dishes and it ran even though I was the only student which I thought was very nice of them. It was very reasonable at about $25 and my husband joined me for lunch.

Yes as JamesA has said there is a cooking class at the boathouse in Phuket on a Saturday or Sunday or you can do both. You can book on the net.Price A$50. You get to watch and cook and then eat what you have cooked. Beautiful location and the chef is very competent.

Just wanted to post that we just got back from Thailand and took a cooking class with Yui at A Lot of Thai Cooking School. IT was wonderful! We made 5 different dishes each one was great!! As a previous person posted - some of the best food we had in Thailand was in this class and I also can't believe that we cooked it! The class taught by Yui was awesome with lots of individualized attention. I would recommend this class to anyone!

Are there any cooking schools that anyone knows of that will let us pick a few of the dishes we want to learn? My FH and I will be on our honeymoon next summer in Koh Samui, Chiang Mai, and Bangkok. We really want to take a one day or 1/2 day class, but learning how to make tom kha kai and mangoes with sticky rice is a must! I have looked around at a few cooking school websites, and they never teach these two dishes together. So, I am looking for a class that will let us request (ahead of time even) that those two dishes be on the menu.

My daughter and I took a cooking class with Yui (www.alotofthai.com) last summer. It was one of the highlights of our trip. The instructions were easy to follow, the food was delicious and Yui is great! What a nice woman!! Because we were the only 2 people in her class that evening, we were able to make some special requests and Yui was very accommodating. Our class had to begin about 30-45 minutes later than scheduled because of our tour schedule. In addition to visiting the market and learning how to make three dishes, we also learned how to make curry from scratch. Our short-course was supposed to last 3.5 hours, but instead we were with Yui for almost 5 hours -- partly because of the extra instruction, but mostly because we sat and chatted with Yui in her patio at the end of class. It was like visiting with a friend.

To SJLBK, I recommend that you contact Yui. I'm sure that she would be willing to try to accommodate you in learning the dishes you mentioned.
