Best location for tourists in Hong Kong

My wife and I (mid 50s) are going to Hong Kong as tourists. We are debating whether to stay on the Kowloon side or in the Central district? Any thoughts?

i have been about 5 times....each time i have stayed on the kowloon side....so i really cannot compare, except to say that i choose the hotels and always prefer to be in TST....there is always something alive and happening in kowloon....this cannot be said for all of HK island....in the business areas it is pretty dead after 6PM....

I also prefer to stay on the Kowloon side, but not everyone does. This question gets asked at least once a month, so if you do a search, you'll find lots of information.

And I'll answer this question like I have the previous dozens of times - DOES NOT MATTER. I'll get the best hotel for you dates and budget.

Tsimshatsui and Central are 10 minutes apart with the Star Ferry or 5 minutes (and two stops) apart on the MTR.

Unless you want that famous harborview from your own room. Then you want something aling in TST.
