Best day trips from Tokyo
 

My husband and I would appreciate travelers' feedback on their favorite day trips from Tokyo. We'll be there in mid/late March. Also, any suggestions of reputable tour companies would be helpful. We're staying at the Tokyo Hilton, and thought we might be able to book side trips with the hotel concierge. We're also going to Kyoto for three days. Any suggestions for favorite places there would also be helpful. Thanks for ideas!

lots has been written here about both places, have you tried to locate some through the search engine?

Use viator.com as a guide. Mt Fuji, Hakone, Nikko and Kamukura would be on top of the list.

Here's another vote for Kamukura as a great day trip from Tokyo.

On a nice day great view of Mt Fuji from Kamakura. Ideally go on a weekday.
Hiring a bike in Kyoto and Toei Uzumasa Eigamura (also known as Kyoto Studio Park/Eigamura) was fun.
