BEST Boutique hotels in Bangkok

BEST Boutique hotels in Bangkok

I have started compiling a list of what I deem to be the best boutique hotels in Bangkok.

These destinations are less known, off the beaten track and therefore an absolute must for those of us who prefer personal service and charming settings to 5 star grandeur. I welcome any addition to the list, once I receive your recommendations I will post them and hopefully bring more attention to these lesser known gems.

I have classfied the list into three price range:

- Luxury
- Mid Range
- Budget

LUXURY

chakrabongse villas
number of rooms: 3

MID RANGE

Old Bangkok Inn
number of rooms: 8

Ibrik Resort
number of rooms: 3

BUDGET

La Residence
number of rooms: 29

thaiexpat,

Thank you for the list...

I try to seek-out Boutique Hotels whenever traveling locally or abroad.

I had looked at the websites of all the hotels on your list but had never heard of the Atlanta... sounds like quite a place. I am still searching for a hotel for our last night in Bangkok, on our way back to the US, and I think we shall try to book a night at the Atlanta!! Sounds like it would give us some great memories on our last night in Thailand.

I am already in love with this country and have yet to physically see it. Everyone on this site is SO excited and has such a love for Asia - I am sure this is not our last trip to this part of the world!!!

I'm sort of suprised that the Atlanta shows up here, as the reviews of it typically emphasize how worn and grungy the decor is. I've not stayed there. Has it been refurbished or something that it shows up on this list?

No the Atlanta hotel nowadays could never be described as a boutique place to stay. Back in the 50-80's it was a great place to hangout but unfortunately hardly any renervation work has been done. The lobby is still impresive, the resraurant okay but the rooms are drab and musty and the hallways stink.

i have to dissent...all the hotels listed are best described as small hotels....i find none of them to be true botique hotels and certainly not lux or even approaching it...

to me botique resembles something in the lux category...

these are all small hotels and nothing more...
