Best beach in vietnam in august

My husband and myself are travelling to Vietnam in the last two weeks of august and were looking to have some beach time. With the weather varying so much throughout the country and it being wetter in central and south vietnam, what would be the best beach to visit for some nice quiet fun in the sun????

My recommendation is Furama resort in Da Nand, Six senses (Ana Mandara resort)& Vin Pearl Resort in Nha Trang and Victoria Phan Thiet.

Cheer.

I'd like to think that these two responses represent independent opinion by other travellers and have no financial interest in the recommendations given - but I wonder.

Just outside of Hoi An there is a fabulous beach that is not too populated. In addition to a wonderful beach, Hoi An is a wonderful place to visit with lots of opportunity for shopping and culture

Hi christine
We liked Lang Co Beach between Hue & Hoi An. It is a far nicer beach than C ua Dai beach in Hoi An. There are some nice little resorts (basic but nice) very close to the beach. Check out page 321 of Lonely Planet Guide Feb 2003 version at your library. We stopped at Lang Co en route to Hoi An and vowed to return if we ever visit Vietnam again. Too busy with India at present! All the best. Let me know if you want phone numbers etc.

You could also consider one of their undeveloped beaches - Quy Nhon (www.life-resorts.com) or Phu Quoc (www.vngold.com/pq/mango) or Anoasis Long Hui Beach Resort on Vung Tan. If you feel like a splurge Ana Mandara or the Evason on Nha Trang.
Not good with weather - www.weatherbase.com may be useful.

Avoid Phan Thiet. I visited early last year. The beach was littered with dead animals: pigs, dogs, etc. We stayed one night and left. If you want a nice beach resort, opt for one of the two Ana Mandara resorts in Nha Trang.
